First and foremost, I’ve always had a desire to help people. Perhaps coming from a Mediterranean background, this was instilled in me! This desire has led me to where I am today, and I feel incredibly positive about the impact I can make as a coach.
My Career has certainly been a journey. Starting out from university as a Chartered Tax Advisor within the Big 4 and Banking sector, I then changed direction slightly and moved into Recruitment within the same sector(s) and specialism.
Underpinning both professions was the need to be solution and results driven, and I had extreme confidence issues in both professions, always wondering ‘am I doing enough’, or, ‘am I doing the right thing’, sometimes referred to as the imposter syndrome. However, without realising it, I was unofficially coaching people within my place of work, and it was this element of my career that I was drawn to and wanted to explore. After being made redundant, I had much time to reflect, and I embarked on an ICF accredited course to become what I am now; a Coach.
Alongside my career, I have had personal struggles which required time and effort from myself to allow me to grow and build confidence, which has enabled a deep level of empathy when working with people - and receiving coaching has had a big part to play in this. All these lessons and experiences combined, I believe, contribute to me being able to get to the core of what holds back many of my clients, giving them clarity and in effect, help empower them.
